Data Deletion Policy

How to delete your account or organization from Velosta, what happens during the process, and how your data is handled. Read alongside our Privacy Policy.

You have full control over your data. You can delete your individual account, or delete your entire organization (company). Both options are available directly within the Velosta app.

02How to Request Deletion

In-app method (recommended)

  1. Open the Velosta app

    Launch the app on your registered device.

  2. Go to Settings → Account Management

    Navigate to the Account Management section in your settings.

  3. Select the deletion type

    Choose Delete My Account for an individual account, or Delete Company to delete the entire organization.

  4. Verify with OTP

    An OTP will be sent to your registered email address. Enter it to confirm your identity.

  5. Confirm deletion

    Review the confirmation screen and proceed to initiate the deletion.

Alternative method

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by emailing support@velosta.com from your registered email address. Our team will verify your identity and process the request.

03What Happens After You Request Deletion

Once deletion is confirmed, the following happens immediately:

  • Your account or company is deactivated immediately
  • All active sessions are revoked across all devices
  • A confirmation email is sent to your registered email address
  • Your data enters a 30-day secure retention (read-only) period

During the 30-day retention period: No new data can be created or modified. You can still log in to view or export your data. This window exists so you can recover your account if the deletion was unintended.

0430-Day Recovery Window

You may cancel the deletion at any time within 30 days of initiating it:

  1. Log in to the app using your credentials
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Undo Deletion

Your account or company will be restored instantly. All data will remain intact as it was at the time of deletion.

After 30 days, deletion becomes permanent and irreversible. Once the retention window expires, your data cannot be recovered under any circumstances.

05Permanent Deletion

After the 30-day retention period expires:

  • All associated data is permanently deleted from Velosta systems
  • Deletion is executed via automated processes
  • This action cannot be reversed

This action is permanent. Once the 30-day window has passed, Velosta is unable to restore any data regardless of the circumstances. Please ensure you have exported any records you may need before deletion becomes permanent.

06What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account

  • Name, email address, phone number
  • Login credentials and all active sessions
  • Personal account data and preferences
  • Your association with the organization

When you delete your company

All organization data is permanently deleted, including:

CategoryData deleted
FleetVehicles (bikes, cars, and all other vehicle types)
OperationsBookings, invoices, and transaction records
CustomersCustomer records stored within app-managed systems
TeamStaff accounts and access configurations
LocationsBranches and location data
MarketingCoupons and rewards programs
AnalyticsReports and analytics data
MediaUploaded images and documents
LogsAudit logs and activity history

07Customer Data Clarification

Customer data stored by vendors may exist in two places:

  • Locally on devices — data you have saved directly on your phone or staff devices
  • App-managed records — data stored on Velosta servers depending on feature usage

Upon company deletion:

  • All server-side customer-related records are deleted from Velosta's systems
  • Local device data remains under your control and is not affected by deletion

If you have customer records stored locally on devices, you are responsible for managing and deleting that data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and your own obligations to your customers.

Certain minimal data may be retained where required by law, including:

  • Financial records required under Indian tax laws (e.g. GST, Income Tax Act)
  • Fraud or abuse investigation records where legally necessary
  • Security and audit logs where required by applicable regulation

Data retained for legal compliance is:

  • Retained only for as long as legally required
  • Not used for any commercial purpose
  • Kept in a restricted, access-controlled environment

09Third-Party Services

Velosta uses trusted service providers that may temporarily process data during normal operations, such as cloud storage providers (e.g. AWS S3) and email delivery systems.

During deletion:

  • All associated data under Velosta's control is removed from these systems
  • Third-party systems may retain operational logs as per their own data retention policies — these are outside Velosta's direct control

10Security During Deletion

  • Data remains encrypted during the 30-day retention period
  • Access to retained data is restricted and monitored
  • Deletion processes are automated and audited

This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India. See also our Privacy Policy.
